The Haddenham U3A Film Group provides an opportunity to see films, locally and at low cost, that you may have missed the first time round but always wanted to see, or want to see again because they never seem to be shown on TV. Perhaps you want to see films in a style or about a subject that you really like, or with your favourite film star, or made by your favourite director. You might have heard about a film and always wondered how good it was, or are just intrigued to see it. Why not come along and see for yourself?
New members are welcome. If you wish to join us, please contact Roger Rickard on 01844 291613 or firstname.lastname@example.org
It is open to ALL U3A members to attend the screenings. If you wish to be notified of upcoming films, please provide your name, email address and telephone number to the Group Leader
A donation of £4 per film is requested to cover the cost of the room and incidental expenses.
The screenings are on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 2.00pm (except December) at:
The Walter Rose Room
Haddenham Haddenham Village Hall
The programme of films is put together every six months. All group members are invited to make suggestions of films they would like to be considered. Our aim is to cover a range of different types and styles of film, taking account of members’ general areas of preference.
We hope that members will be open to attending all or most of the showings, including films that they would not normally consider.
There is a clear educational dimension to the Film Group. Each film showing will be preceded by a short introduction from one of the members. We will also provide an opportunity after each showing for members to discuss the film.
As each programme of films is announced, if any members own a DVD copy of one of the films to be shown, we would appreciate borrowing it, so that we can keep down the costs of renting or purchasing copies.
